Welcome to Haverfordwest Kayak Club

"The judges were impressed by the wide variety of activities offered to members and the jam-packed calendar of events, along with the efforts that the club has made to reach out to underrepresented groups and to grow the number of female coaches. They were also impressed with the club's role in the community, including volunteering to support other sporting events with safety cover. Overall, it was evident that Haverfordwest Kayak Club is a model club which has had an incredibly busy and exciting 2017."

Here you will find details of club activities, committee members, information on paddling, photos of past events and trips plus links to other sites of interest.

We are a friendly and active kayaking club, formed in 2002. New members, of all ages and abilities, are always welcome. The club is affiliated to the sport’s governing body, which is Canoe Wales, and we currently have a membership of about 90 people.

The club aims to make everyone’s experience of kayaking/canoeing a safe and enjoyable one. Whether you are brand new to the sport and looking to learn new skills, an experienced paddler wanting to improve your existing paddling skills or just looking for a group of people to paddle with, we have qualified coaches and experienced paddlers who can help you achieve this, with good company thrown in for free. We try hard to keep the range of paddling activities varied to ensure there is something to suit everyone.

Here in Pembrokeshire we are lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful variety of paddling opportunities, with some of the best sea kayaking in the UK, white water paddling a little further inland, placid water on a number of river and estuary locations and some great surf beaches.

To find out more please see the "About Us" page and expolre the rest of the site.

If you’d like to join us on the water, then contact the membership secretary – details on the Contact Us page.

We look forward to paddling with you.

We will be hosting the 2nd Greenland Style Rolling and Paddling Weekend at St Brides on the 14th, 15th, 16th September. Rolling coaching will be with Rachel Kehoe and Dirk Saunders from Falmouth CC wh provided excellent coaching last year. Maximum 30 places; £60; self catering, camping with showers, loos and kitchen available.
This year we are delighted to offer an extra night’s camping at no extra charge so that anyone can stay and enjoy peer paddling along our beautiful coast on Monday 17th.
